With Accounts in Goodbudget, you can track the balance of your regular credit card payments and on the debt you are working to pay off.
Option 1: Pay off your monthly debt in full
If you're budgeting with a Credit Card Account and you usually pay off your card in full at the end of each billing period, create an Account Transfer from your Checking Account to your credit card account to pay your monthly bill.
Option 2: Make a payment on the card you're working to pay off
If you're using Accounts to track your ongoing debt, make sure that your monthly Debt Payoff Envelopes have been filled with the amount you'd like to pay. Then you can make a payment in two steps:
- Create an Envelope transfer from your Debt Payoff Envelope to your Debt Balance Envelope
- Create an Account transfer from your Checking Account to your Debt Account.
Lastly, you can make sure that you update your Accounts to track interest and fees as they come up.
